Dear Classmates,
After spending nearly two years finding people, we are now ready to start the countdown to our 40th reunion. We’ll be sending out updates every now and then as the date approaches; this is Update #1.
Save the date: We have decided on a date for the reunion: the weekend of October 6-7, 2012. Even if you’re pretty sure you don’t want to come, please put this date on your calendar – you might decide to come after all!
What/when/where. The reunion will be held in Armonk starting the afternoon of October 6. Although we don’t know for sure yet, we are hoping this will be Homecoming Weekend, which means we could go to the football game, etc., if we want. The high school will be open starting mid-afternoon for a tour and informal get together. The reunion dinner will be held that evening in the La Quinta Inn in Armonk. And there will be an informal brunch on Sunday morning. More details will follow over the coming months. And if you have suggestions for other events please let us know!
When do I need to decide if I’m coming? We’ll be asking you soon whether you think you might come, but we don’t need a definite RSVP – or any money – until September 15, 2012. So, no pressure; take some time to get used to the idea!
What about accommodations if I live far away? We will be reserving a block of rooms at the La Quinta Inn, which you can book (details to follow). We have been promised a very low rate, so it should be affordable. Or you can just show up at your old house and see if the current residents will let you stay there.
Do you guys need any help organizing this thing? Thanks for asking. As the date gets nearer, we’ll almost certainly need help. Let us know by email that you are interested and we’ll get in touch over the coming months.
